The Operations and Museology team at Skope – Museum of Medicine and Health participated in the seminar ‘Metallic Cultural Heritage – Characterising to Preserve’, presented by metallurgical engineer Virgínia Costa (UFRGS | TU-Berlin), a specialist in the conservation of historic metallic heritage.

This seminar, held at NOVA FCT, was organised in collaboration with LIBPhys-UNL, a partner of the Casa Hermes Foundation.
The initiative was organised by EPPIC, an interdisciplinary group dedicated to the preservation of industrial and scientific heritage.

With a collection made up of various metal objects, the conservation of these materials represents a constant technical and scientific challenge. The exchange of knowledge and best practice is therefore fundamental to the Museum’s mission.

This participation reflects the Casa Hermes Foundation’s commitment to the preservation of material heritage, helping to guarantee its preservation, study and sharing with future generations.

We thank the organisation very much for this important opportunity!
