The Casa Hermes Foundation was present at the IBER2025 conference – Iberian Meeting on Atomic and Molecular Physics, which will take place from 21 to 24 July in Vigo, Spain.

The study “Material Study of Coolidge X-ray tubes in medicine: unveiling their history, technology, and use”, by researchers Marta Manso and Isabel Tissot (NOVA FCT), was presented at the event, revealing preliminary results of unprecedented research on Coolidge-type X-ray tubes belonging to our collection.

This research – carried out under the protocol with the Laboratory for Instrumentation, Biomedical Engineering and Radiation Physics of the NOVA School of Sience and Technology – combines science, history and conservation, contributing to the enhancement of scientific and medical heritage.

Participation in this international conference reinforces the importance of collaboration between cultural and scientific institutions and highlights Casa Hermes Foundation commitment to the preservation and study of historical scientific instruments.

We would like to thank Professors Marta Manso and Isabel Tissot for their work.
