The Casa Hermes Foundation (Fundação Casa Hermes in Portuguese) was born out of the private collection of a doctor from the Portuguese city of Aveiro, Hermes de Oliveira Castanhas, and the Dr. Hermes House Museum, the family’s private museum in Aveiro dedicated to the history of medicine. Officially recognised in 2022, the Casa Hermes Foundation was created to preserve and expand this remarkable legacy. Continuing this work, it drives a range of initiatives focused on the promotion of health through education and community, investigation and knowledge.
